Artist Statement
The artwork explores the emotional tension between control and surrender through a contrasting palette of deep wine and warm ivory. The collision occurs predominantly in the center, where the darker tones represent the pressure of control, while lighter hues yield a sense of surrender around it. The selection of colors such as stain brown and ash gray further emphasizes the struggle between containment and overflow. The broken pixels disrupt the composition, suggesting imperfections in this balance, while allowing negative space to breathe in moments of release. This abstract arrangement mirrors the stuttered steps of navigating these emotions.
