Artist Statement
This piece explores the emotional contrast of awe and terror through a carefully selected palette and structured arrangement. The top half embodies awe with soft pinks and grays, creating a sense of ethereal calm against the stark bottom half representing terror, dominated by jagged reds and dark maroon, creating visual tension. The collisions of dense patterns in the lower half, representative of chaos, meet the softer, crosshatched lines above, suggesting a quiet balance teetering on the edge of instability.
