Artist Statement
This composition navigates the emotional terrain of defiance and submission through a play of dark versus light. The navy and black symbolize unresolved resistance while the dim cyan introduces a soft, receding element that suggests submission. The layout embodies a mirrored structure, allowing for an interplay where the dominant emotion, defiance, occupies the center with angular interruptions against soft islands of color.
