Artist Statement
This composition embodies the tension between relief and dread through a contrasting palette of soft sky blue and faded gold against the heavy storm gray and near black. The emotional tone suggests a push-pull between lightness and heaviness, where the central cluster of brighter colors represents relief, while the darker hues envelop it, evoking dread. The main collision occurs in the center, where the 'rain' pattern of softer colors intermittently clashes with the 'stack' of dark shades, creating an island effect. This reflects the theme of a bright element struggling amidst heavier emotional weight.
