Artist Statement

This artwork captures the emotional dichotomy of control versus surrender. The palette invokes a warm yet melancholic moment, with deep wine as the dominant color symbolizing pressure, juxtaposed with the gentle gold and warm ivory hues that suggest a softness and surrender to the flow of life. The arrangement has been purposely designed to have a thick outline of dark colors that create a sense of containment, while lighter colors break through at the edges and center, evoking an overflow. This conflict presents a stuttering rhythm that leads the viewer's eye diagonally and suggests a journey of emotional ebb and flow. The arrangement includes deliberate broken pixels to further enhance the sense of imperfection and vulnerability in the chaos of emotion.
