Artist Statement
This piece captures the emotional tension between longing and resolve through the contrasting use of color and structure. The palette combines clean white and ice blue to represent clarity (resolve), while the deeper tones of ink black and violet gray evoke a sense of confusion (longing). The upper half emphasizes longing with scattered, dense clusters of darker colors suggesting unresolved emotions, while the bottom half presents a split screen of serene whites and blues providing a solid grounding, reflecting the theme of repair vs damage. The broken pixels introduce intentional disruptions, symbolizing scars and leaks, while the clear boundaries delineate each emotional territory. Main collision occurs at the center where longing interrupts the structured resolve, creating a visual dialogue of tension and resolution.
