Artist Statement
The emotional tone centers around the juxtaposition of quiet and pressure, represented by the muted tones of off-white and faint peach against the deeper shadows of dark navy and compressed red. The palette captures character and creates a sense of both calm and impending weight, suggesting movement across the square. The main contrast is found in a thick band of dark navy forming a diagonal across the grid, shattered by lighter colors that splinter the tension, reminiscent of the tension within calmness as glimpses of 'quiet' interrupt the heavier 'pressure'.
