Artist Statement
This piece explores the emotional tension between 'longing' and 'resolve.' The palette of deep reds and soft blues captures the essence of urgency and calm, creating a dialogue between the contrasting feelings. The configuration of colors reflects a diagonal argument, with the more forceful reds representing resolve in the top left, gradually bleeding into the softer blues of longing, which occupy a quieter diagonal wedge in the bottom right. The subtle interplay of textures and broken pixels introduces disruptions, enhancing the idea of repair amidst damage, mirroring the concept of a shattered mirror. The main collision occurs along the diagonal where the warm reds encroach upon the cool blues, evoking a pulse of emotion that feels both serene and urgent.
