Artist Statement
This artwork captures the emotional tension of relief and dread through an interplay of dark and light hues. The left side, representing dread, employs dense, muted colors like near black and storm gray, evoking the feeling of inevitable descent and a heavy atmosphere. In contrast, the right side adopts softer tones of pale mint and faded gold, symbolizing an exhalation of space and relief. The collision occurs down the center, where these contrasting elements meet, reflecting a tension between confinement and liberation. The use of broken pixels adds intentional disruptions, embodying the struggle between chaos and order within the layout, while the negative space facilitates a breath within the composition.
