Artist Statement
This piece explores the emotional dichotomy between nostalgia and progress. The selected palette of black, electric blue, magenta, and lime symbolizes the tension between the weight of past memories (nostalgia) and the bright vibrations of future possibilities (progress). The black serves as a canvas for the bright colors, creating stark contrasts that evoke feelings of interruption and collision. The jagged edges suggest a frenetic energy, emphasizing the struggle between calm and rage in the emotional landscape. Each filled pixel contributes to a chaotic rhythm that reflects the fragmented nature of memory and the continuous push towards advancement, culminating in a dynamic interplay of densities and voids, allowing for the suggestion of movement and stillness within an abstract framework.
