Artist Statement
This composition captures the tension between control and surrender through a warm color palette of burnt orange, dark red, charcoal, and gold, evoking a sense of ancient fire. The dense pressure of dark colors on one side contrasts against softer saturation on the edges, illustrating a stutter step — a clash of control versus the desire to release. The main collision occurs in the center where the darker tones interrupt the lighter fields, symbolizing a pull between containment and overflow. The quiet channel running diagonally through the piece offers a respite, inviting contemplation within the chaos.
