Artist Statement
This piece embodies the emotional tension between fear and hope by using a palette of dark and light colors to create contrast. The colors black and dark violet dominate the upper half, representing fear with compressed and jagged elements, while soft gold and pale green introduce hope and lightness in the lower half, emanating upward flows. The vertical split creates a visual imbalance that highlights the conflict between weight and lightness, suggesting a burst of emotion. The 'broken pixels' add complexity, indicating imperfection in this duality. The contrast, primarily between the dark top and bright bottom, creates a striking visual collision, echoing the themes of pressure and release inherent in the seed.
