Artist Statement
This piece explores the tension between vulnerability and strength through a balance of light and dark colors. The central pixels, in slightly softer shades of electric blue and hot magenta, suggest vulnerability, while the surrounding dense blacks and grays emphasize strength and stability. The chosen palette of signal green and electric blue juxtaposes energetic softness with heavier darks, creating an ongoing conversation within the composition. The collision occurs centrally, where two small color centers pulse towards each other, surrounded by broader negative spaces, reflecting the push and pull of these emotional states. The square evokes themes of exposure versus safety, embodying a delicate balance of opposing feelings, echoed by the broken pixel elements that represent imperfections within certainty.
