Artist Statement
The emotional tone of longing combined with resolve is manifested through the interplay of warm and cool colors. The selected palette of pinks and grays represents a tender yet conflicted sentiment, where the dark maroon provides a grounding, intense counterpoint. The collision occurs predominantly in the center where echoing patterns of gray and red collide with the structured stripes of pink, creating visual tension. This reflects the push and pull of emotions in the seed, with quiet spaces balancing clusters of color. The broken pixels introduce imperfection, symbolizing the disrupted harmony of longing and resolve, while maintaining negative space for breathing room.
