Artist Statement
This artwork captures the emotional dichotomy of awe and terror through color placement and pattern. The top half utilizes warm yellows and oranges in mirrored formations to evoke feelings of wonder and brightness, embodying awe with soft edges that suggest warmth. Conversely, the bottom half incorporates deep blues and muted purples in a stripe pattern, symbolizing chaos and instability, thus generating a sense of terror. The palette reflects a spectrum from joy to grief, implicitly contrasting the two emotional states. The main collision occurs at the central divide, where warm colors meet cool, echoing the struggle between admiration and fear.
