Artist Statement
This composition captures the delicate interplay between softness and severity, using a palette that embodies gentle warmth against stark contrasts. The soft shades of powder pink and warm white ripple through the slightly darker hues of carbon black and steel gray, creating a visual pulse of emotional tension. The center, where the two emotional patterns collide, is intentionally weighted with darker colors representing severity, yet accented by lighter, softer hues that seem to push against the darkness. Broken pixels disrupt the symmetry, suggesting inherent imperfections in the emotional experience, mirroring guilt and forgiveness. The overall flow leads the viewer's gaze in a counterclockwise spiral, emphasizing an inward tension while leaving negative space to evoke breath and pause.
