Artist Statement
This artwork conveys the emotional tension between loneliness and connection through a balanced yet asymmetrical layout. The color palette of deep blacks and pale blues represents the weight of solitude contrasted against the fragile light of connection. The primary contrast occurs in the center, where bursts of pale colors emerge from the darker, surrounding space, suggesting an inner seed striving to connect and be exposed amidst a backdrop of loneliness. The use of broken dots within a structured layer mimics the feeling of fragmented connections. The edges are hard, repeating the theme of exposure vs. protection, allowing for a visual representation of internal conflicts, while generous negative space enhances the feeling of separation and solitude.
