Artist Statement
The emotional tone balances a deep longing with moments of resolve, expressed through a palette of navy, black, dim cyan, and white. The use of navy grounds the composition in depth, while white offers bright accents that punctuate moments of clarity against the darker elements. The main collision occurs in the center, where the strong diagonal 'stairs' from the resolve meet the softer, more fragmented 'split-screen' of longing, creating tension between structured strength and emotional scattering. Broken pixels are placed strategically to symbolize imperfections in the journey between these feelings, providing a narrative of repair rather than destruction. The negative space around the edges adds a sense of quiet, enhancing the impact of these colorful collisions within the dense center.
