Artist Statement
This piece explores the emotional juxtaposition of longing and resolve through a dynamic color palette. The warm tones of rose clay and lamp gold represent the urgency and hope of resolve, while the cooler shades of distant lilac and cool blue evoke a sense of longing and quiet reflection. The primary collision of colors occurs in the upper left corner, where the energy of resolve is overflowing, meeting the muted calmness of longing in the rest of the grid. The 'pressure_corner' layout introduces asymmetry, enhancing the emotional tension, while broken pixels create intentional imperfections, reflecting the theme of damage and repair. Patterns of noise and islands intertwine to suggest complexity in the human experience of these emotions, culminating in a rich abstract narrative.
