Artist Statement
This piece explores the emotional contrast of fear and hope through a symmetric layout that juxtaposes dark, jagged edges with a glowing center. The palette, consisting of black, dark violet, soft gold, and pale green, mirrors the tension between despair and the fragile light of hope. The main collision happens in the center, where hopeful tones of gold and green barely pierce through the oppressive dark borders, creating an emotional push and pull. The 'broken pixels' add imperfection, reinforcing the theme of struggle while ensuring that the square remains abstract and open to interpretation.
