Artist Statement
The palette, featuring deep blacks and vibrant reds alongside cool pale blues and whites, captures the tension between loneliness and connection. The left side, focused on loneliness, uses darker, muted tones to create negative space, representing isolation and hidden emotions. In contrast, the right side bursts with brighter hues, suggesting vibrant connections and the warmth of social ties. The jagged edges on the lonely side collide with the softer framing of connection, illustrating the struggle to bridge emotional gaps. The placement of broken pixels evokes imperfection in emotional experiences, while maintaining a balanced composition that reflects unresolved feelings.
