Artist Statement
This composition reflects the emotional tension between longing and resolve. The palette of sepia, tan, dust gray, and faded blue evokes a sense of nostalgia, accentuating the feelings of both warmth and detachment. The central collision occurs in the middle rows where darker colors dominate, suggesting a firm foundation (resolve) clashing with lighter, more fragmented tones of longing. The broken pixels introduce intentional imperfections, creating a dynamic balance between strength and vulnerability, much like the threads of connection that are both frayed and unyielding.
