Artist Statement
The emotional tone contrasts the feelings of loneliness and connection. I chose a palette of pink, red, gray, and dark maroon to represent warmth and intimacy against the weight of isolation. The arrangement of colors creates a dense, top-weighted layout that conveys a sense of pressure and hidden depths, with contrasting clusters of gray and maroon punctuating the pink and red. The burst of lighter shades suggests moments of connection breaking through the darkness, while the negative space emphasizes the vastness of loneliness. The patterns of grid and spark interact, portraying the complexity of navigating feelings of isolation and communion.
