Artist Statement
This composition captures the emotional contrast between loneliness and connection through a split layout that visually represents isolation on one side and warmth on the other. The use of burnt orange and dark red creates an intense, passionate feeling, while the charcoal and gold introduce a sense of muted elegance. The left side, embodying loneliness, features a disordered noise pattern, evoking disconnection and isolation, while the right side employs a rain-like connection pattern that flows gently across the space. The collision between the dense left and the softer right becomes a visual representation of the struggle between feeling hidden and exposed, culminating in a central burst of color that symbolizes a tear — both a rupture and a reconnecting point. This interplay of color and pattern effectively conveys the complex narrative of longing and simultaneous connection.
