Artist Statement
This composition embodies the duality of longing and resolve through contrasting colors and patterns. The palette was chosen to represent desire and emptiness, with warmer hues from 'hot coral' and 'blood orange' symbolizing longing, while the cooler 'charcoal' introduces a stabilizing contrast that represents resolve. The main collision occurs in the diagonal spread, where broken dots (representing longing) intermingle with barcodes (symbolizing structured resolve), creating a dynamic tension. The arrangement leaves intentional negative space, enhancing the feeling of desire mingled with completeness.
