Artist Statement
This piece captures the emotional interplay between longing and resolve through a contrasting palette and pixel arrangement. The left half embodies longing with a quieter, softer color field of blues and plums, signifying an unfinished approach and distant warmth. The right side introduces resolve through a more structured arrangement of maze-like patterns, incorporating white and soft cyan that emphasize clarity and strength. The collision occurs where these two emotional states meet, suggesting a tension between the desire for completion and the push for structure. Broken pixels are utilized intentionally as disruptions, embodying the 'repair vs damage' theme, while the solid borders help to convey the boundary between these contrasting feelings.
