Artist Statement
This composition explores the emotional tension between confusion and clarity, using a palette of black, dark violet, soft gold, and pale green. The dark tones evoke a sense of uncertainty, while the lighter shades suggest clarity. Each row plays with the idea of falling pixels, creating a dynamic sense of motion downward, augmenting the sense of confusion through sporadic placements of the vibrant soft gold amidst darker tones, which results in visual interruptions. The thick bold 'lines' created by the darker colors create a hard outline that contrasts with the softer pixels, representing boundaries in perception that both inhibit and define clarity. Negative spaces are incorporated to maintain a sense of balance, allowing the mind to breathe amidst the chaos of overloaded pixels, reinforcing the underlying theme of seeking clarity from confusion.
