Artist Statement
This artwork encapsulates the emotional tension between loneliness and connection, utilizing a palette juxtaposed with warm and cool tones. The palette of red and pale blue speaks to the warmth of connection being resisted by the coldness of solitude. The design follows a horizontal split that presents a dense upper half representing loneliness with radial patterns, creating a feeling of isolation through dark clusters. The bottom half, lighter and punctuated with single dots, suggests connection's attempt to reach into the void, with playful motifs that mimic connection attempts. The overall layout emphasizes contrast through jagged edges and broken pixels, introducing complexity and imperfection, while maintaining a soothing yet impactful negative space to symbolize the quiet around overwhelming emotions.
