Artist Statement
This piece explores the emotional struggle between relief and dread. The calm and soothing hues of pale mint and soft sky contrast sharply with the heavy storm gray and near-black, highlighting a push-and-pull dynamic. The central collision lies in the middle of the grid, where the 'echo' pattern creates a sense of soft release in the top half, while the 'tide' pattern introduces chaotic darkness below, exemplifying a tension between lightness and weight. The broken pixels serve as intentional flaws, creating visual disruptions that enhance the emotional complexity of the piece.
