Artist Statement
This artwork explores the emotional duality of envy and gratitude through a juxtaposition of colors and forms. The chosen palette of warm pinks and dark maroons against cool grays creates a tension between warmth and coldness, embodying the emotional collision suggested by the seed. The hard edges create a stark division, echoing the feeling of an empty room, contrasting with soft gradients within individual pixels that suggest rising and falling emotions. Imperfections through broken pixels within an otherwise mirrored layout highlight the fragility of sentiments, enhancing the dynamic between strong contrasts and soft transitions.
