Artist Statement
This piece explores the conflict between envy and gratitude through color contrasts and patterns. The palette of electric blue and lime represents the raw energy of envy, while magenta and black evoke the depth surrounding gratitude. The arrangement emphasizes both dense pixels (to signify weight and turmoil) and lighter, brighter patches (to suggest fleeting moments of gratitude). The jagged edges inject a sense of imperfection, mirroring life's disruptions, while the overall layout creates a falling sensation as colors cascade against one another, embodying a tension that oscillates between calm and rage.
