Artist Statement
This artwork embodies the emotional tension between fear and hope. The palette features deep blacks and dark violets representing fear, signifying confinement and heavy corners. In contrast, soft gold and pale green denote hope, suggesting a rising signal or light in an otherwise darkening space. The top half of the composition mirrors fear through a stark pattern that creates a jagged feel, large dark areas next to pinpricks of brightness, while the bottom half frames the softness of hope in a structured yet light manner. The broken pixels introduce imperfection to an otherwise regimented layout, signifying vulnerability within strength. Overall, the interplay creates a compelling dialogue between oppression and liberation.
