Artist Statement
This composition embodies the tension between pressure and quietude, with dark, compressed colors on the left side (dark navy and compressed red) generating a sense of density and unresolved energy. The right side, featuring off-white and faint peach, opens into a softer, more tranquil space, creating a visual dialogue of compression versus relief. The collision occurs at the center, where the dense colors crack against the lighter, quieter tones, representing a breaking point between two emotional states. The palette reflects both heaviness and lightness, underscoring the narrative of tension as it manifests through fragmented lines and crosshatch patterns, while the overall layout permits negative space to enhance the feeling of breathability amidst intensity.
