Artist Statement
This composition explores the emotional tension between awe and terror through a nearly mirrored image with broken elements. The chosen palette of black, dark violet, soft gold, and pale green creates a contrast between darkness and light, reflecting the hidden vs. exposed nature of terror and awe. The outer edges are dark, establishing a feeling of confinement and chaos, while the central 4x4 area employs a soft gold and pale green interplay to evoke a sense of wonder. The jagged edges introduce disruption, emphasizing the tension of a broken memory, where each pixel signifies an echo of stability disrupted by chaos.
