Artist Statement
This composition explores the emotional tension between desire and restraint. The palette balances rich reds and muted tones to symbolize heated desire clashing against calm restraint. The primary collision occurs in the center, where warm saturated colors break through the surrounding muted fields, creating a dynamic engagement. The patterns interweave; the 'ring' of desire encircles the restrained 'crack', suggesting a struggle between two forces. Negative space is preserved to evoke a sense of breath within the intensity.
