Artist Statement
This composition reflects the tension between envy and gratitude. The palette of deep navy, muted black, a striking white, and a hint of dim cyan encapsulates feelings of loneliness and distance associated with envy, contrasted by the brightness of gratitude. The juxtaposition of light and dark elements creates a visual dialogue that mimics the emotional ebb and flow represented in the seed. The overlap of grid-like structures on the left (reflecting envy) contrasted by the chaotic noise pattern on the right (representing gratitude) evokes the push and pull of these emotions, where one side seeks dominance while the other breaks through with contrast, ultimately highlighting the interplay between calm and pressure.
