Artist Statement
The emotional tone contrasts safety and exposure, represented through a palette of warm browns (shelter) and cool whites (exposure). The intersecting patterns create a visual echo effect: where soft barriers (the warm browns) collide with bright, pale regions (the cold whites). The main contrast lies vertically, encapsulating the tension between struggling against and relenting to pressure, with the top half embracing safety while the lower half depicts stark exposure. The gradients and random broken pixels add to the imperfection, suggesting vulnerability amid protection.
