Artist Statement
This artwork juxtaposes feelings of vulnerability and strength through its color density and pattern distribution. The center is filled with deep black and red tones representing strength—a protective layer. The lighter pale blue edges suggest vulnerability, framing the dense core while allowing glimpses of brightness to seep through. The collision occurs at the center, where thick, crosshatch patterns meet softer, lattice-like structures, creating a tense visual atmosphere that reflects an ongoing struggle between exposure and safety. The palette of black, red, and pale blue encapsulates the emotional dichotomy while the negative space allows room for reflection.
