Artist Statement
This work embodies a tension between vulnerability and strength through its color choices and layout. The palette of deep blacks and dark violets creates a foundational strength, while the soft gold and pale green represent vulnerability. The central collision between dense, dark elements and lighter, more exposed hues suggests a struggle between being sheltered and being exposed. The patterns of strength (veil) and vulnerability (scar) interact subtly across the grid, emphasizing the complexity of emotional experiences. The arrangement invites contemplation on how these themes interweave in our lives.
