Artist Statement
This piece explores the emotional tension between loneliness and connection. The palette, chosen from deep black to soft gold, represents a journey from dark solitude to warm interdependence. The main contrast arises in the arrangement, where a dense black core suggests isolation, surrounded by gradually lighter colors to represent the effort of reaching out and connecting. The broken patterns symbolize the fragility of these connections, while the negative spaces offer a reflection of the loneliness that exists between them. The overall layout leads from the corners into the center, mirroring the emergence of connection from isolation.
