Artist Statement
This piece captures the emotional conflict between longing and resolution. The top half of the grid, colored in warm reds and muted creams, evokes a sensation of yearning, expressed through a frame-like pattern that suggests boundaries yet feels incomplete. The bottom half transitions into cooler tones of blackened plum and iron gray, forming a foundation of steadiness and resolve, represented by an ashy, textured field that solidifies the sense of closure. The collision occurs in the middle, where the warm frame edges meet the cool, textured ground, embodying the tension between desire and fulfillment. Broken pixels scattered throughout symbolize imperfections and scars from struggles, emphasizing a narrative of repair and resilience amidst longing.
