Artist Statement
This composition captures the emotional tension between 'defiance' and 'submission.' The contrast between the bright, jagged accents of 'hot_magenta' and the deep, enveloping shades of 'dead_black' creates a collision that suggests an inward spiral of conflict. The use of 'signal_green' and 'electric_blue' in the center serves as the 'defiant' core, while the surrounding quieter tones reflect 'submission,' drawing attention to the edges that are almost sealed but intermittently break, allowing expression to seep through. The deliberate use of broken pixels introduces intentional disruptions that mimic the ongoing battle between these emotions.
