Artist Statement
This artwork embodies the emotional dichotomy between desire and restraint, using saturated colors on the left to represent the intense pull of longing, while the muted palette on the right symbolizes the containment of those urges. The vibrant reds and oranges clash with the cooler grays and creams, creating a visual tension. A spiral flow guides the viewer from warmth to coolness, embodying the pull and push of emotional conflict. The broken pixels introduce unscripted movement, interrupting expectations and adding to the chaos of desire's push against the walls of restraint.
