Artist Statement
This piece embodies the tension between panic and control, using colors that oscillate between dark and light. The palette of black, dark violet, soft gold, and pale green reflects a spectrum of emotions, where the darkness signifies the engulfing nature of panic, while the softer colors hint at control and hope. The rows are arranged to create a sense of instability, with dense patches of color symbolizing chaos in places, interrupted by open spaces that evoke a calmness. The pattern suggests a dance between these emotional states, with the dark, crack-like forms representing panic emerging from the controlled, ring-like patterns, accentuating the collision of these feelings throughout the piece.
