Artist Statement
This artwork conveys the duality of pride and shame through contrasting patterns and colors. The top half employs a checker pattern in warm shades of yellow and orange to evoke the buoyancy of pride, while the bottom half utilizes a ring pattern in cooler tones from the muted purple side, reflecting the weight of shame. The broken pixels introduce imperfection, symbolizing the disruptions in emotional state, while the left-weighted edge style draws attention to the shift from a dense to airy feel, establishing a dialogue of tension and release. The choice of colors speaks to warmth versus coolness, creating visual tension that mirrors the internal conflicts suggested by the seed.
