Artist Statement
The emotional tone explores the tension between vulnerability and strength, using a palette that emphasizes both stark contrasts and subtle nuances. The colors—signal green, electric blue, dead black, static gray, and hot magenta—represent the vibrant, yet chaotic elements of exposure and strength. The density of the darker colors dominates the center, creating a feeling of pressure, while lighter colors around the edges suggest vulnerability. The split_screen pattern collides with the ring pattern, with the collision happening centrally, representing the core struggle between the two emotions. Broken pixels scattered throughout enhance the feeling of disruption and imperfection, reinforcing the theme of exposure against the protective elements. This layout encourages a journey inward, echoing the complexities of connection versus alienation.
