Artist Statement
This piece explores the tension between loneliness and connection through a central dark core surrounded by lighter tones that echo the struggle of exposure versus concealment. The selection of navy and dim cyan represents the deep emotional currents of loneliness, while bursts of black and subtle hints of white signify attempts at connection. The sharp contrast between the dark central area and the lighter peripheries creates a feeling of isolation that paradoxically calls for engagement. This unsettling dance between shadow and light shapes the abstract narrative, embodying the intricate interplay of inner turmoil and the yearning for connection.
