Artist Statement
This artwork embodies the tension between envy and gratitude, using a palette of electric blue, lime, magenta, and black to create emotional resonance. The contrasts are realized through asymmetrical placement: cooler colors dominate one side (representing envy) while warmer hues often interrupt with brightness (symbolizing gratitude). The composition embraces a mirror layout which slightly deviates to introduce broken pixels, reflecting the imperfections in emotional balance. The upward motion on the left side contrasts with a downward pull on the right, suggesting the dualities of emotion and the dynamic between hope and fear.
