Artist Statement
This abstract composition embodies the tension between spark and ash, showcasing the struggle between ignition and decay. Using a palette of burnt orange, dark red, charcoal, and gold, it creates a visual dialogue of warmth against cold, suggesting resilience in the face of fragility. The left side, representing spark, features jagged and dynamic patterns to symbolize quick bursts of energy, while the right side, embodying ash, employs softer, broken frames to suggest decay. The dominant warm hues clash with cooler, muted tones in the center, illustrating the emotional collision point where tension erupts. The arrangement allows for a notable amount of negative space, creating balance while evoking thoughts of memory and erasure.
