Artist Statement
This piece explores the emotional juxtaposition of vulnerability and strength through an interplay of soft and stark hues. The chosen palette of muted off-whites, dusty grays, and compressed reds creates a grounding quiet pressure, while the deep navy serves as a backdrop of strength. Notably, the central region, where the red collides with lighter shades, embodies the heart of tension – a spark against an ash field. The density is heavier towards the edges, symbolizing the pressure surrounding the core – a subtle push against the vulnerability that resides within.
